A previous article outlined how the Cloud Minting program of WEWE Global was the very definition of a Ponzi scheme, where cash outs were only possible so long as new investors could be found.
Our Top-of-the-Pyramid Promoters (TOPP) series profiles the illustrious backgrounds of those instrumental in keeping this scam going.
Luiz Góes is the CEO of LyoPay the cryptocurrency platform which is referenced in nearly all promotional material for WEWE Global.
Luiz has appeared in WEWE Global investment seminars, Zoom Meetings and retreats.
An article in Internal Business magazine references the exclusive deal that has been struct with LyoPay for smart contracts - the code for which is not available to members of the WEWE Global DAO, let alone the general public.
Amusingly, many of the selling points to demonstrate the bona fides of the LyoPay frontman emphasise his awards:
First, a “Norn Award” - which appears to be a spurious award that anyone can enter.
Second, “Ambassador of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals in fulfilment of the 2030 agenda” - an impressively sounding role, but one which anyone can be applied for online.
While we are discussing awards, LyoPay’s award for “best crypto ecosystem” looks very suspicious when it was a sponsor of the event, and every other sponsor coincidentally also won awards!
The work history of Luiz Góes is quite enlightening:
Luiz has a history as a marketing executive in Brazil, but wasn’t associated with crypto until 2019 when he was a “Consulting Provider” for the failed Universe Coin and Educacoins
with his Strategic Advice also leading in failure Dhabi Coin
Summary
Luiz Góes’ leadership of LyoPay gives the WEWE Global sales pitch some gravitas, but a detailed investigation of his past suggests a “leader” who appears to be quite good at promoting himself, but not so good at leading successful projects.
His history with at least three failed cryptocurrency tokens seems doomed to be repeated with LYO credit too.
